Japanese Coffee Jelly

Serves (4 x 1/2 cup containers)

8.5 teaspoons coffee grounds (deep roast, medium-fine grind)
1.5 teaspoons gelatin powder
8.5 teaspoons granulated sugar
4 red cherries
Fresh cream to taste

Ingredients for whipped cream

1/5 cup heavy cream
1/2 teaspoon granulated sugar



Ready in

  • Put the coffee grinds in the dripper and brew. (Regular Mode and Size L)
  • As soon as the brewing is finished, put the coffee in a bowl and add the gelatin powder and granulated sugar. Mix well until the gelatin dissolves. *Add fresh cream to taste if desired.
  • Pour the mixture into the containers for serving. Wait until the mixture has fully cooled and place containers in the refrigerator to chill for three hours.
  • Make the whipped cream. Put the cream and granulated sugar in a bowl, whisk while chilling over ice water, and put into a piping bag.
  • When the gelatin mixture (Step 3) has fully cooled and hardened, remove from the refrigerator. Top with whipped cream and garnish with red cherries. TIP: You can also crumble the jelly and top it with the cream as you please.
