Golden Butter Toast
Try using the Salamander Grill Mode, our finishing tool inspired by chefs, on your own bread. You’ll be surprised by how good it tastes. Just 30 seconds is enough to create a delicate golden layer on top while the inside stays soft and warm.
It’s a subtle contrast, but one that makes all the difference. A small step that brings big joy to every bite.

Ingredients
Serves 2
2 slices of soft, domed-top milk bread (like Japanese shokupan), cut into 4 pieces |
1.5 tbsp butter |

Directions
Ready in 5 minutes
- Cut half of the butter into squares for garnish.
- Soften the remaining butter. Spread it on one side of each slice of bread and make deep cross cuts with a knife.
- Place the bread with the top facing you and toast on Golden Toast Mode for 3 minutes.
- Change to Salamander Grill Mode for 30 seconds until desired browning is achieved.
- Once toasted, add the butter squares. Close the door again and let the residual heat melt the butter slightly.
Tip:
Salamander Grill Mode browns ingredients quickly. The browning time varies depending on the type and size of the food. Keep an eye on the oven and stop cooking when the desired browning is achieved.
